Our latest addition for homing is this beautiful looking boy! Matty is around 2-3 years’ old and came to the attention of one of our rescuers when he turned up at her workplace 2 years’ ago very frightened, emaciated and absolutely covered in fleas and ticks. He befriended another stray in the area and they became very bonded and were allowed to live in the office yard and sleep in the office at night.
Never any trouble, Matty showed a calm energy and was accepting of visitors to the office, cars in the yard and even the cats that lived there although he did chase any new cats that arrived!
He recently came to the rescuer’s shelter where he plays happily with other dogs although if they are persistent and rough playing he moves away, never showing aggression. He does have a submissive ‘grin’ when he first meets people or dogs that he is unsure of but this is not aggression at all, rather a slight fear of what might happen. He is an obedient and loyal dog and stays close to whoever his special person is, walking calmly on a lead.
Matty loves children although we would only home him with older children. He is not a high energy dog, neither is he a demanding boy. He weighs around 22kgs and measures 60cms to the top of his head.
Neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, Matty is ready to find his forever home and could be homed with or without another dog.
