SPECIAL NEEDS
CAN YOU OPEN YOUR HOME TO A DOG THAT NEEDS A HELPING HAND ?
Introducing the most gentle girl currently living within a shelter environment in Greece. Lucky is around 7 years old, the most calm and non reactive dog, full of gentleness who loves human attention. We are looking for a suitable home for Lucky where she can live a peaceful life as either the only dog or with an older calm dog. Her disability is Cerebella Hypoplasia which can cause the wobbles in her movements but is totally painless and does not affect her general health. In January Lucky had an MRI scan which showed a ‘micro hemorrhage’ to the brain which causes these mild neuro problems. A further MRI in May 2023 has shown no change but of course it could be degenerative as Lucky gets older but not all dogs are ‘lucky’ and she still deserves the chance of a ‘golden basket’.
If you can offer Lucky a quiet, calm place in your home and in your life we would very much like to hear from you. Either download the pre-adoption form from our home page or phone Gillian for further information.

Lucky is generally not interested in other dogs although she will occasionally have ‘zoomies’ and show her fun side. She was found by volunteers searching for animals caught in the Wildfires of Megara in 2021 when many animals perished as the fires swept unrelentlessly through fields and villages demolishing everything in its path, hence her name “Lucky”
Lucky had such a bad experience in the wildfires that she is still very scared of fire, the smell of smoke and loud bangs including fireworks and gunshot. Although not unusual we must respect the scars this has left and ensure she is homed in a peaceful environment.

Her recent experience within a foster home has been good, she doesnt react to strangers entering the home and likes to follow you around helping with the chores
❤️
Above you can see Lucky interacting with her shelter friends and enjoying a chase around in the mud, if you would like to offer Lucky a home please phone Gillian on 07795-170222
